Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings are ready to collide with each other as they seek vital points in IPL 2024. However, the excitement around this interesting fixture is clouded by doubts about players’ fitness, as well as other probable changes.
LSG is currently placed at the 6th position on the IPL 2024 Points Table. After consecutive losses to DC and KKR, LSG have lost 3 out of their seven games so far. KL Rahul’s squad is keen on winning their next game, but the absence of a well-coordinated batting game was prominent of late.
There are talks that Kyle Mayers will be getting a nod at the expense of Quinton de Kock to strengthen the batting force of LSG. Although Stoinis is an all-rounder who offers greater flexibility despite a subdued performance, LSG is not entirely sure about de Kock’s form.
The comments by LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener were equally interesting. He said, “I am not sure regarding his participation in tomorrow’s match against Chennai. He has been bowling in the nets but his fitness is our priority. But can’t say anything regarding his participation.”
CSK will be taking on a side seeking redemption at the second position in the Points Table. They know that the Ekana Stadium is specially designed to help spinners and that a lone change of drafting Moeen Ali back into the side in the place of Daryl Mitchell is on the cards.
