Mandhana scored the 27th half-century of her T20 career. She scored 50 runs with the help of four fours and a six in an innings of 38 runs. Shefali scored 43 runs in 40 balls in which she hit four fours.
Both of them shared a 98-run partnership in 12.4 overs for the first wicket. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an unbeaten innings of 52 runs in 27 balls and hit eight fours and a six. Atapattu and Emma got one wicket each for Sri Lanka.
India won the toss and decided to bat first. Mandhana and Shafali gave India a solid start. The team scored 41 runs without any loss in the first six overs of the powerplay.

Shafali has completed 2000 runs in T20 Internationals. She has become the fifth Indian to do so. Before her, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet, Mithali Raj, and Jemima Rodrigues have achieved this feat.
Mandhana hit the first six for India in this World Cup. She played this shot on the last ball of the seventh over. India’s score was 78 runs without losing a wicket after 10 overs. Mandhana completed her half-century in 36 balls.
She completed her half-century by hitting a four on the second ball of the 13th over. India’s first wicket fell at 98 runs. Mandhana was run out after scoring her half-century. Harmanpreet completed her half-century by hitting two fours on the last two balls of Prabhodhini in the last over of the innings.
