Playing against Ireland in Cape Town, Muneeba hit 102 runs off 68 balls, including 14 boundaries. Her brilliant knock helped Pakistan reach a competitive total of 165/5. In response, Ireland was bowled out for 95, giving Pakistan a massive 70-run win. Muneeba’s century earned her the Player of the Match award.
4. Harmanpreet Kaur (India) – 103 runs
Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, made her mark in the 2018 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. She played an extraordinary innings against New Zealand, scoring 103 runs from just 51 balls, with seven boundaries and eight sixes. Her explosive performance helped India post a total of 194/5. In reply, New Zealand managed to score 160/9, and India won the match by 34 runs. Harmanpreet’s century made her the Player of the Match and the only Indian woman to score a hundred in the tournament.
3. Heather Knight (England) – 108* runs
During the 2020 edition, Knight smashed an unbeaten 108 off 66 balls against Thailand in Canberra. Her innings included 13 fours and four sixes, guiding England to a total of 176/2. Thailand, in reply, could only manage 78/7, and England won by 98 runs. Knight’s unbeaten century earned her the Player of the Match title.
2. Deandra Dottin (West Indies) – 112* runs
Deandra Dottin from the West Indies became the first woman to score a century in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. She achieved this feat in the 2010 edition against South Africa in Basseterre, St Kitts. Dottin blasted 112* off just 45 balls, hitting seven boundaries and nine sixes, which took West Indies to 175/5. South Africa responded with 158/4, falling short by 17 runs. Dottin’s all-round performance, including taking a wicket, made her the Player of the Match.
1. Meg Lanning (Australia) – 126 runs
Australian cricket legend Meg Lanning holds the record for the highest individual score in the history of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. She achieved this remarkable feat during the 2014 edition of the tournament, playing against Ireland. Lanning scored a stunning 126 off just 65 balls, hitting 18 boundaries and four sixes. Her performance helped Australia score a total of 191/4. Ireland could only manage 113/7 in reply, and Australia secured a 78-run victory. Lanning’s incredible performance remains unmatched in Women’s T20 World Cup history.
