As anticipation builds for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, cricket enthusiasts are rushing to secure their seats for non-India matches, resulting in rapid sell-outs of tickets at prestigious venues. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru are now set to witness packed crowds, as the demand for World Cup tickets remains sky-high.

The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and ICC (International Cricket Council) adopted a staggered ticket release strategy, with tickets for non-India matches made available to the public. Despite the palpable excitement surrounding India’s matches, tickets for other games were also snapped up in a matter of minutes, according to recent reports. This remarkable trend transpired even though Indian Cricket Team stalwarts like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma aren’t part of the current mix.

Despite some delays in the ticket release process and shifts in tournament dates, passionate fans are demonstrating their unwavering commitment by reserving seats for the action-packed cricket extravaganza scheduled for October and November. Notably, all seven matches that do not feature the Indian Cricket Team have already sold out at both the Mumbai and Bengaluru stadiums. Kolkata has also witnessed rapid ticket sales, with two of their three games being sold out in mere minutes.

Among the highlighted ticket rush, the source stated, “The tickets for the three non-India games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai – England vs South Africa on October 21, South Africa vs Bangladesh on October 24, and Australia versus Afghanistan on November 7 – were sold out in just 15 minutes.”

The high demand has even led to some technical difficulties, with the popular ticketing platform BookMyShow experiencing crashes and device issues due to the overwhelming response.

For cricket enthusiasts eagerly awaiting a chance to witness Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in action, tickets for India matches will become available on August 30. Mastercard users will get an early opportunity to secure their seats, as tickets will be accessible from August 29 through BookMyShow, with purchases available post 6 PM IST.
