West Indies Cricket Board apppoint three women to board of directors

By designating three women as independent directors to its board for a one-year term ending in March 2025, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has made a major contribution to the advancement of diversity and inclusion.

Diann Campbell and Louise Victor-Frederick have been appointed as the new members of the board, and Debra Coryat-Patton, who was a member from 2019 to 2021, is returning.

With over three decades of experience, Campbell is a renowned Jamaican cricket administrator. His knowledge in corporate governance, organisational development, and cricket administration will be invaluable to CWI’s strategic efforts.

Victor-Frederick, a seasoned branding and communications strategist from Saint Lucia, adds her expertise to the board’s diverse array of skills.

Coryat-Patton’s return to the board ensures that CWI benefits from her invaluable legal expertise, as stated in the release.

In addition to these appointments, Barbadian entrepreneur Hallam Nichols has been reappointed as an independent director and continues to serve on the CWI stakeholders relations committee.

CWI President Kishore Shallow expressed his commitment to diversity and inclusion within the organization, stating, “Since the beginning, I’ve advocated for diversity and inclusion within CWI to ensure fairness both on and off the field. This appointment is a natural progression of our ongoing commitment.”

Shallow further emphasized the value these appointments bring, saying, “Their diverse backgrounds, extensive experience, and unwavering commitment to excellence will undoubtedly strengthen our organization and contribute to the advancement of cricket in the West Indies.”

The CWI President also extended his gratitude to the outgoing independent directors, Manniram Prashad and Gail Mathurin, for their contributions and service to West Indies Cricket, expressing hope for their continued involvement in other capacities.
