Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) may have to do without the services of Mayank Yadav for their upcoming fixtures, revealed head coach Justin Langer. Addressing the media ahead of LSG’s clash against Delhi Capitals, Langer expressed uncertainty about Yadav’s participation in the next two matches due to a hip injury.

Yadav, who could only bowl one over in LSG’s previous game against Gujarat Titans before leaving the field, has been experiencing discomfort in his hip area. Although initial assessments indicated no serious issues, an MRI scan revealed a minor swelling, prompting cautious management of Yadav’s workload.

“We’re hopeful that Mayank will resume bowling soon, but he’s unlikely to feature in the next couple of games,” Langer stated. “The short turnaround between matches and the associated travel make it challenging for his recovery.”

While Yadav’s absence poses a setback for LSG, there’s optimism surrounding the return of another fast bowler, Mohsin Khan. Khan, who sustained a hamstring injury after the initial games, has been undergoing treatment and is nearing full fitness. Although ruled out for the match against Delhi Capitals, Langer hinted at Khan’s potential availability for the subsequent game against Kolkata Knight Riders.

“Having Mohsin back will bolster our bowling attack,” Langer remarked. “He’s progressing well with his recovery and could feature in the game against KKR, providing us with that extra pace.”
