Indian cricket teams finally have reason to breathe as its star batter Suryakumar Yadav made it clear that he is now approaching full fitness with the timing being excellent ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. His recovery and ability to adapt to the team’s strategy are all vital as India ramps up its title aspirations.

Arguably, the Mumbai Indians ‘ star batter missed IPL 2024’s opening few games due to a shoulder problem. However, his return of form was nothing to write home about as he crashed with a first-ball duck against Delhi Capitals at Sharjah. Even with his first score against RCB, he could only blast 52 off 19 balls.

His form ever since has been anything but consistent. Yadav followed his first-drought fifty with another excellent failure as he blasted nothing in Sharjah against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Nevertheless, his excellent form returned with a magical 50-ball 64 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Punjab Kings on Thursday.

That notwithstanding, it seems the star batter is relatively optimistic. He has admitted to the “ups and downs” before pointing to the work he is putting in on the training ground and fielding. He further admitted that it will not be long before he is in a position to play the full 40 overs.
