KKR are placed second in the points table of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. However, with the mega auction looming, the franchise might opt to release a few players they deem less valuable to the team. Here are five such players who could potentially be released by KKR.
Nitish Rana: KKR’s former captain enjoyed a stellar season previously but has played just one game this time, scoring 9 runs. He was subsequently benched for the remaining matches.
Andre Russell: The legendary all-rounder has been invaluable for KKR for decades but at around 35 years old, the franchise could part ways with him considering his age and fitness.
Mitchell Starc: KKR made headlines by acquiring Starc with the highest bid in IPL history. However, the Australian pacer has proven expensive with an economy rate of 11.48 in seven matches.
Manish Pandey: Fans eagerly anticipated Pandey’s return, but the right-handed batter has not played a single game so far and could be dropped next season.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz: The Afghan batter was impressive last season with 227 runs from 11 matches, including two half-centuries. But he is yet to play a match in IPL 2024.
