Lord’s is known as the mecca of cricket, many cricket legends have played here and promoted cricket on a global level with their exceptional skills. Lord’s is known to have been built for more than three centuries and has been the home of cricket.
These 5 cricket legends have made near to impossible records in world cricket and achieved greater heights in their cricket career. Unfortunately, the shocking thing that they failed to achieve was scoring a ton in one of the greatest cricket stadiums where every cricketer aspires to play and get their name written on the wall of fame at Lord’s Stadium.

- Sunil Gavaskar – The run-machine cricket legend from India, often regarded as one of the greatest opening batsmen of all time. He played for the Indian national cricket team from 1971 to 1987, known for his impeccable technique, patience, and ability to score runs consistently against the best bowlers in the world.
His concentration on the pitch while batting and elegant defense made his wicket hard to earn among the other batsmen. He was the first cricketer to score 10,000 international runs and held the record for most test centuries for years that was 34 and was surpassed by another cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
He played some of the greatest innings at the Lord’s Stadium but he was never able to score a century on the ground ever which would be the biggest regret of this cricket legend.
2. Jacques Kallis – The former South African cricketer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time.
He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler. Kallis played for South Africa in all three formats of the game, Test, ODI, and T20I, and was a key member of the South African team for many years. He retired from international cricket in 2013.

He is a former West Indian cricketer who has the record of making 400+ runs individually not out against England in Antigua. Highest individual score in first-class cricket with 501 not out for Warwickshire against Durham in 1994.

His single records in various are more than enough for the modern-era batsmen to compete with, there’s just one record that his predecessor Virat Kohli made by breaking the record of most centuries in the ODI format around the globe.

He holds the record of most international runs in cricket around the globe but scoring a ton was not on his list unfortunately, although his teammate Ajit Agarkar, the medium pacer from India played a knock of 109 runs off 119 balls.
Sachin Tendulkar just had an average of 21.67 runs, played 9 innings, made 195 runs, and was never even able to score a half-century.
