Ellyse Perry has signed with Hampshire for the Vitality Blast 2025 and Metro Bank One Day Cup in a significant move for English domestic cricket. This signing marks a major development for Hampshire as Perry is widely regarded as one of the greatest female cricketers of all time. Her involvement is not only expected to strengthen the team’s lineup but also boost her personal record in English cricket.
On 11 April 2025, Hampshire County Cricket Club announced on their official website, “Ellyse Perry Signs For Hampshire. The Australian, widely regarded as one of the greatest female cricketers of all time, will play for Hampshire this July in what is viewed as a significant moment in women’s domestic cricket in the country.”
Ellyse Perry’s decision to join Hampshire is a strategic move for both her and the club. She will be available for six Vilatlity Blast group-stage matches in July. If the club qualified for the finals, she would be there to play for the team. Additionally, she will also participate in two Metro Bank One Day Cup games.
Paul Prichard, Hampshire Women’s head coach, was quoted saying, “Ellyse is one of the world’s best cricketers, and we are looking forward to welcoming her to the team this summer. Her record across all formats speaks for itself, and she will add a tremendous amount of value on and off the pitch. Our group of young players will learn so much from Ellyse, and I know our fans will be incredibly excited to see her in a Hawks shirt.”
Ellyse Perry On Her Signing With Hampshire

Ellyse Perry is a record-breaking Australian cricketer known for being the youngest Australian to represent the country in both cricket and soccer at the age of 16. Her career has been nothing short of phenomenal, with numerous accolades, like six T20 World Cup titles, two ODI World Cup wins, five Women’s Ashes series wins, etc. She hasn’t played in country cricket before, so this signing will also mark her debut in the format. Her debut is scheduled for 4 July 2025 against The Blaze at Chesterfield.
She expressed her enthusiasm regarding her joining and shared, “I am really looking forward to joining the Hampshire team this summer. The Club has been a leader within the women’s game for the last ten years, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to join the team at such an exciting time for domestic cricket in England. There’s always a great atmosphere at Utilita Bowl, and I cannot wait to walk out as part of the home team for the first time on Sunday, July 6.”
