Washington Freedom won the second edition of the Major League Cricket title with a thumping 96-run win over San Francisco Unicorns in the final of the MLC 2024 on July 28 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings)

Faf du Plessis scored 420 runs from eight innings facing a total of 245 balls. He has a remarkable strike rate of 171.43 and an average of 52.50. With 43 fours and 23 sixes, the South African smashed the most boundaries and maximums. His campaign included a century and three fifties.

Steve Smith (Washington Freedom)

Washington Freedom skipper smashed 88 off 52 balls to guide Washington Freedom to post a total of 207/5 in the final match of the MLC 2024 against San Francisco Unicorns. With this knock, Smith scored a total of 336 runs in the tournament in nine innings facing 226 balls. He scored with a strike rate of 148.67 and an average of 56.00. He made three half-centuries in the tournament. He smashed 23 fours and 2 sixes in the tournament.

Travis Head (Washington Freedom)

Travis Head showed consistency with the bat throughout his campaign as he smashed five fifties in the tournament. He amassed 336 runs at a strike rate of 173.20

At an average of 48.00 having faced 194 balls in nine innings. He hit 40 fours and 18 sixes in the competition.

Finn Allen (San Francisco Unicorns)

Finn Allen scored 306 runs in the MLC 2024 powered by a century. His 306 runs came in nine innings after facing 163 balls at a whopping strike rate of 187.73 and an average of 34.00. He smashed two fifties in his campaign. He hit 27 boundaries and 20 maximums in the tournament.

Devon Convoy (Texas Super Kings)

Devon Convoy garnered 293 runs in eight innings facing 204 balls in the tournament. He maintained a strike rate of 143.63 and an average of 58.60 in the MLC 2024. His campaign included three half-centuries, 25 boundaries, and seven maximums.

The 2024 Major League Cricket (MLC) season kicked off on 5th July 2024 and witnessed some of the players playing as Americans who have already made their cricket debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Indians in the previous seasons. With MI New York as the defending champions, the 2024 Major League Cricket will witness its final showdown on 28th of July 2024.

Milind Kumar was acquired by the Delhi Daredevils franchise for a base auction price of INR 10 Lakhs. However, the IPL 2019 season witnessed a smooth transition for the cricketer  as he switched his sides to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a whopping INR 20 Lakhs. Harmeet Singh Baddhan is the second player in the list of cricketers who have earlier made their IPL appearance as Indians and are now a part of the MLC 2024 season as Americans. Harmeet Singh Baddhan made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut for the Rajasthan Royals squad during the IPL 2013 season. Additionally, the Indian-born slow left-arm orthodox bowler also represented the Indian side at the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup before transitioning into an American cricketer. The ongoing Major League Cricket 2024 Season witnessed Harmeet Singh playing for the Seattle Orcas squad.

• Unmukt Chand 

Former Indian cricketer, Unmukt Chand played as an Indian cricketer for a decade before announcing his retirement from Indian cricket in 2020. The Delhi-born cricketer made his official Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in the IPL 2010 season for Delhi Daredevils. Unmukt Chand represented the DD squad for three seasons before switching sides to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) squad in the IPL 2014 season. Unmukt Chand also represented Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2014 season. Unmukt Chand made an iconic transition and made his memorable Major Cricket League (MCL) debut in 2021 and is currently a crucial part of the Los Angeles Knight Riders squad for the ongoing Major League Cricket 2024.
