As the T20 World Cup 2024 is underway, let us have a look at five cricketers who, probably, could be playing their last World Cup edition.</span></p>
<h4><strong>Could this be the last World Cup for&#8230;? </strong></h4>
<p><b>David Warner (Australia)</b></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1057 size-large" src="https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1024x576.jpeg" alt="World Cup" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-150x84.jpeg 150w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM.jpeg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Aussie opener has already announced his retirement from international cricket and confirmed that the T20 World Cup 2024 would be his last assignment in Australian colors.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Waner marked his international debut for Australia in a</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> T20 match against South Africa in January 2009. He became the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to be selected for a national team without having played domestic cricket.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 37-year-old had time and again lived up to the expectations of his team. He has won three ICC World Cups and one <a href="https://www.icc-cricket.com/news/category/world-test-championship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ICC World Test Championship</a> with Australia.</span></p>
<p><b>Rohit Sharma (India)</b></p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1058 size-large" src="https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-1024x576.jpeg" alt="World Cup" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-150x84.jpeg 150w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-1.jpeg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Indian skipper is another big name who could be appearing in his last World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean. Rohit Sharma is one of the two players (the other being Angelo Mathews of Sri Lanka) who have contested in each edition of the <a href="https://www.icc-cricket.com/tournaments/t20cricketworldcup/index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">T20 World Cup</a> since its inception.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sharma donned the Indian cap to mark his international debut with a one-day match against</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Ireland in Belfest on 23 June, 2007. He</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was a part of the team that won</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 37-year-old has had a great run as a captain for the Indian team. He would look to end his World Cup campaign on a high and bring home the World Cup 2024 silverware.</span></p>

<p><b>Kane Williamson (New Zealand)</b></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kane Williamson has led New Zealand to victory in the ICC 2021 World Test Championship and to the finals of the 2019 Cricket World Cup and 2021 T20 World Cup.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Williamson (33) was first included in the New Zealand squad in March 2010 for the second Test against Australia. However, he could not play the match. He then made his debut for the black caps in an ODI match against India in August 2010.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span></p>
<p><b>Quinton de Kock (South Africa)</b></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1060 size-large" src="https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-1024x576.jpeg" alt="world cup" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-150x84.jpeg 150w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://cricketcounty.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/WhatsApp-Image-2024-06-11-at-1.36.15-PM-2.jpeg 1600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Quinton de Kock (31) announced his retirement from one-day internationals before playing in the 2023 World Cup. The South African opener is known for his dashing batting style.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The wicket-keeper batsman</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> made his international debut in the first match of a home T20 series against New Zealand in December 2012.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">South Africa hasn’t won any ICC trophy and if the team looks to win the T20 World Cup 2024, then de Kock has a crucial role to play.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Angelo Mathews (37) was part of the Sri Lankan team that won the ICC 2014 T20 World Cup and</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">made it to the finals of the </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">2011 Cricket World Cup, 2009 T20 World Cup 2012 World Cup.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mathews, (37), marked his debut for the Sri Lankan national team with an ODI match against Zimbabwe in 2008.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Sri Lankan all-rounder has played all the editions of the ICC T20 World Cup. He holds the superfluous record of being the first batter in the history of international cricket to be timed out without facing a single delivery.</span></p>
