Andries Gous who was born in South Africa started his professional cricket career while playing in South Africa’s domestic cricket competitions and also represented them in the U-19 World Cup. But as has been the case with many players in South Africa Andries Gous did not get his due recognition in the country of his birth as a result he made the call to move to America in search of better opportunities.

The Stint With ADKR

Andries Gous also represented the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the International League T20 and was among the USA players to have featured in the newly introduced league in the United Arab Emirates. The right-hander also played a breathtaking knock of 95 runs against the Desert Vipers in the second season of the International League T20. A good performance in the league helped Andries Gous to prepare for the T20 World Cup which resulted in him playing a match-winning knock against Canada.

Andries Gous had an impressive strike rate of 170 in the previous edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League held in Abu Dhabi where he turned up for the Samp Army. The right-hander scored runs at a strike rate of 170 and shared a dressing room alongside experienced players like Moeen Ali, Faf du Plessis, and former West Indies captain Jason Holder.
